On July 20th, we watched the people in Huahine bless the rudder of the traditional 15 meter outrigger canoe docked in the town of Fare. This special catamaran called Upoo Tahiti, which means “Head of Tahiti,” had a piglet, rooster and plenty of bananas and taro on board. She is one of many outrigger canoes sailing west across the Pacific to China. Captain and designer, Clement Pito, has been imagining this voyage for the past 20 years and his dream had finally come to fruition.

In late 2009 a short film called “The Fast and the Famous,” directed by Jeremy Hart, was released on YouTube.  The film features Jay Leno behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS ‘Gullwing.’ During his circuit of Mulholland Drive, Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, Beverly Drive, and Coldwater Canyon Drive, Leno makes several references to Lelouch’s classic film “C’était un rendez-vous”

Fans lined the shores of Memorial Park today to catch the final rounds of action at the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour stop in Colorado Springs. Riders in the Pro Men and Jr. Pro Men division spent the day battling it out on the water behind the MasterCraft X-Star in hopes of winning the fourth stop of the 2010 season.

Several naked bicyclists were stopped by police and told to cover up Friday night on Capitol Hill during a World Naked Bike Ride event.

Officers told the cyclists they were in violation of indecent exposure laws. The riders were ordered to get dressed or risk prosecution, according to bike ride organizers.

But the bicyclists themselves say they were merely exercising their First Amendment rights and were carrying out Seattle’s longstanding naked cycling tradition …  Details
