The club outdistances seven-time Hui Wa’a champ Kaneohe to win its first title in 25 years

The king’s children have finally returned to rule their canoe paddling kingdom.

Na Keiki O Ka Moi — roughly translated as the children of the king — claimed their first Na Ohana O Na Hui Wa’a outrigger canoe paddling title in 25 years yesterday in the organization’s championship regatta at Keehi Lagoon.

Ka Moi ended Kaneohe Canoe Club’s run of seven consecutive titles by amassing 79 points and winning eight races en route to the overall and AAA Division (25-39 crews entered) crowns. Manu O Ke Kai put up a good fight, finishing with 53 points on six race wins, and Koa Kai rounded out the large-club division with 33 points  …  Details

Canard Makes it Three In-a-Row in the 250 Class

WASHOUGAL, Wash. (July 24, 2010) – The Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship returned to the West Coast on Saturday for the Motosport.com Washougal Retro National from Washougal Motocross Park, Round 8 of the 12-race championship. Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., swept the day’s motos to grab his seventh-consecutive 450 Class overall victory. GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard, of Shawnee, Okla., also swept both 250 Class motos to capture his third-straight win.
