For the 23rd edition of the Champs Open a totally new direction has been taken with two distinctly new competitions. The first was dedicated Snowboard and Freeski film producers. Four teams were invited for 10 days to Leysin with riders & cameraman/editors with the ultimate goal of producing a 3-minute film of their adventures throughout the Vaud Alps. The French guys of PVS Company were the grand winners of this competition. The second competition format was an an open competition with Freeski and Snowboard at the Chaux de Mont site. The contest structures was Big Air. The young Freestylers Laurence de Martin and Max Burrl took the chance to go filming with one of the participating film productions.
Between 1996 and 2004 Wendy Fisher was the most dominant female Big Mountain Freeskier in the world – then she had kids. Nearly a decade later, we revisit Wendy to see if she’s still got ‘it’.
