As I was coming back into town the other day from an invigorating ride, I came across a fellow cyclist who had been involved in an accident on her bike over the winter.

Her misfortune was due to a collision she had with a dog that chased her when she was in the vicinity of the dog owner’s property. I hope the following article by Fred Matheny and Ed Pavelka will be helpful in avoiding future mishaps with our canine friends as we take to the open roads this cycling season.

For their honeymoon, Will and Melissa Calkins went to France. They didn’t go, however, to taste the cuisine or see the art. They went to stand on high mountain roads and celebrate their marriage by cheering their lungs out for five stages of the Tour de France.

The L.A. Boat Show opened on a high note considering the challenging economic times. On the whole, exhibitors reported more interest that far exceeded expectations.

“We’re happy and making sales at the show,” commented Scott Driesbach, Advantage Boats COO with factory headquarters in Lake Havasu City, AZ. “It’s been a long six months, but after this Saturday and Sunday, we’re feeling much better about what 2009 holds in store.
