Surfing a wave is usually all about catching a few fleeting moments of fun – but for these surfers it’s more about staying power.
Dressed head-to-toe in toasty wetsuits, surfers from around the world flocked to the Severn on Wednesday to ride a 13km (eight-mile) tidal bore.
The phenomenon saw a 1.2m (4ft) wave flow into the Severn Estuary, which has the second-biggest tidal range in the world.
