Surfers get a bad rap as being selfish.
They set out to find the best waves so they can fulfill an internal yearning – sometimes leaving their significant others irked and alone during early morning hours. It may be the closest thing to NASCAR that Lake Elsinore has ever seen.
“This area is a hotbed of motorsport activities,” said Mike Finnegan, a member of the National Jet Boat Racing Club’s board. “These boats are … the closest thing to muscle cars.”
