“There’s waves, there’s waves!” shouted one of the frothing groms upon arrival this past weekend at the CSF FREEDOM surf comp down at Mission Beach.

John Lindsley the CSF competition director was equally ecstatic as the surf report had called for less than stellar knee to waist high surf. Said John, “I’m so stoked, the sun is out and the waves are looking really fun. God is good.”

Fans that have been waiting for the Sprint Cup Series to kick into high gear received a jumpstart courtesy of Kyle Busch on Sunday at Bristol.

Busch not only spanked the field in the Food City 500 by leading 378 of the extended 503 circuits, he verbally reignited his rivalry with Dale Earnhardt Jr. The smack started when NASCAR called a bogus caution for debris on Lap 320 that enabled Earnhardt, who was in 18th position and the first car one lap down, to regain his position on the lead lap.

Busch laughed maniacally through his commentary. ”Eighty-eight, lucky dog. Hahahahaha!”

Busch knocked the No. 88 off the lead lap again on lap 438 but his focus had returned to keeping the competition behind him and winning the race. Further comment was reserved until the postrace… Details
