The 7th annual Holley National Hot Rod Reunion, June 19-21 at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a 3-day festival of speed, hot rods and American automotive enthusiasm. Attack Kawasaki rider Jamie Hacking has been placed on probation for the remainder of the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing season and his minimum one-event penalty that was assessed following this past Sunday’s race at Auto Club Speedway has been suspended for the balance of the season following a productive meeting today with AMA Pro Racing President Roger Edmondson and his management team at AMA Pro headquarters in Daytona Beach.

It was 17 degrees this morning when my wife and I went on a morning jog and throughout the run I couldn’t help but think about Melbourne and Formula One where things are really heating up.
The early broadside was fired by the AT&T Williams team which ran in the fastest time, with Nico Rosberg’s 1:26.53 in the second session. Two-time world champion Fernando Alonso is philosophical about his second poor start to a season since returning to Renault. In his second year back, he qualified 12th on the grid for Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix.
Alonso started from 11th on the grid here last year before finishing in 5th out of seven finishers. The Spaniard went on to finish the season strongly and ended 2008 in fifth place on the drivers’Â standings.
