France’s anti-doping agency said Friday it will not seek sanctions against cyclist Lance Armstrong over a dispute with a drug tester.

The agency said in a statement Friday that it “decided to take into consideration the athlete’s written explanations” and will not open disciplinary procedures.

At issue was a 20-minute delay when Armstrong said a drug tester who showed up on March 17 to collect blood, urine and hair samples agreed to let him shower while the American rider’s assistants checked the tester’s credentials…  Details

Save The Waves Coalition presents its third annual Life Is A Wave benefit event, a yearly celebration of coastal environmentalism through music, art, film, and community activism. Life Is A Wave 2009 will roll in on May 14 from 6pm ’til midnight, once again at 111 Minna Gallery in downtown San Francisco. The multimedia event will feature live music from several innovative new bands, including Bay Area heavyweights Bayonics, as well as the fast-rising Kapakahi – both known for their dynamic mix of world beats and highly energetic live shows. Opening will be Clif Bar Inc.’s own Dung Beetles, along with DJs M3, OmarEtch, and DJ Paul.

This year Save The Waves will honor Reef founder, International Surfing Association President and philanthropist Fernando Aguerre as recipient of the 2009 Wave Saver Award, for his work and support defending coastlines around the world.

Apple Games has taken to the slopes with a new article about the recently released Mac version of Shaun White Snowboarding. The game, developed in collaboration with Olympic gold medalist Shaun White, allows players to experience a variety of snowboarding action. Apple’s article includes an overview of the gameplay and a short bio of Shaun White.

ESPN will release the first sports-themed 3D film this summer tied to its X Games franchise.

Produced by ESPN Films, X Games 3D the Movie, will have a one-week theatrical run, starting Aug. 21, in 3D theaters around the nation. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is handling the distribution efforts.
