Aucklander Sam Harvey has won a world title in the International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) world finals in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Riding a Sea-Doo® personal watercraft (PWC), Harvey took out the Pro Runabout Open. The Howick-based marine retailer has been competing at the prestigious IJSBA world finals every year for the past nine years, so to win on his tenth attempt was particularly satisfying for the New Zealander.

Harvey says the competition is especially intense in his class.

Technically, John Povah is the Etnies BMX team manager. But that description falls far short of everything that Povah does both on the side and through his job at Etnies. Some of his additional roles include: product designer, photographer, ramp builder, bike rider, sport organizer and magazine contributor. Jimmie Johnson refused to get out of his battered race car after he crashed on the third lap Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway.

He sat behind the wheel while his team looked over the damage. He remained defiant when crew chief Chad Knaus said their race was over, keeping his seat belts tight and his hands gripped on the steering wheel.
