Following a gold-medal-winning performance at the Vancouver Olympics in snowboard halfpipe, Shaun White will now be vying for a new title to add to his collection – Skateboarding World Champion. White’s opportunity for his second major accolade of the year will take place at the Dew Tour’s Skate Open, International Skateboarding Federation (ISF) Skateboarding World Championships June 25-26 at Boston’s legendary TD Garden. This past weekend Windermere hosted what seemed to be a little unknown contest but, Jason Soven claimed it to be the best tournament of the year! Some of your favorite riders came out to support a good cause and ride at the event. It helped that there was contest money on the line too.

Antigua – Well ocean rowing followers, there you have it… After 118 days of tracking our valiant rowers across the waves, it’s all over. Last weekend saw the final rower in the Atlantic Rowing Race, Sean McGowan, complete his crossing and row triumphantly into English Harbour to be met by a welcome fit for the first Irish man to row an ocean solo.  

It’s been an incredible event, and looking back it’s hard to believe that it’s six months since I traveled out to La Gomera to see the start of the race, only to return – leaving the crews still on dry land, and with a further month of waiting before they were able to set off  …  Details

The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Estoril Surf Billabong Girls 6-Star Women’s event was won for the second year inrow by Sally Fitzgibbons (AUS) in a one-sided final over Jacqueline Silva (BRA) at the main contest site of Bafureira in Estoril.

Conditions once again varied during the day with reasonable 4ft (1m) right-handers wrapping the reef at Bafureira to run the final day of the Estoril Surf Billabong Girls 2010.
