Antigua – Well ocean rowing followers, there you have it… After 118 days of tracking our valiant rowers across the waves, it’s all over. Last weekend saw the final rower in the Atlantic Rowing Race, Sean McGowan, complete his crossing and row triumphantly into English Harbour to be met by a welcome fit for the first Irish man to row an ocean solo. Â
It’s been an incredible event, and looking back it’s hard to believe that it’s six months since I traveled out to La Gomera to see the start of the race, only to return – leaving the crews still on dry land, and with a further month of waiting before they were able to set off … Details
