ASP World Tour number two Jordy Smith has scooped the Premier Surfer of the Year award at the fourth annual South African Surfing Awards.

After a year of planning and preparation, on July 12th 2010, Skate Across the USA fundraising trip to raise awareness and funds for San Diego’s at-risk youth.

In 7 days Ari and a team of skateboarders will depart San Diego and attempt to skateboard across the USA from Newport, Oregon to New York. This year’s Tour de France will cover 3,600 kilometres [2,236 miles], including some of the most fearsome climbs in the Alps and the Pyrenees. It’s one of the toughest Tours in years, and yet perhaps the moment the peloton has been fearing most will arrive at about 4.30pm today, in between one bleak post-industrial town in southern Belgium and another in northern France.
