Charles Martin (GLP), 20, has won the ASP Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior Lacanau today after defeating Hossegor native Pierre-Valentin laborde (FRA) in the 30-minute final in consistent three-foot (one meter) waves. Martin, with his second consecutive win in Lacanau, grabs the ASP European Junior men’s crown and will lead the regional ratings’ Top 4 into the ASP World Junior Tour events.

Martin was in superb form throughout the final day letting his best surfing speak to score the event’s best wave in the Semifinals before letting no chance to to fellow finalist Laborde in the final thanks to an accurate wave choice and solid tactics. A new season championship for youth windsurfers, to be known as the Kendall Cup, was announced today by Dave Mackay of the NZ Techno class association.

“Windsurfing is New Zealand’s top Olympic event of the last 25 years, with seven medals from six Games including three Golds” said Mr Mackay. “Yet we don’t always get the profile and participation we’d like. We want to get more kids into the sport, and see them spending more time on the water, to ensure that we have the talent to remain top performers in the world in years to come. Canard Extends Winning Streak to Four in 250 Class

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. (August 14, 2010) – After a three-week break, the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship returned to action for Round 9 on Saturday with the Rockstar Energy Unadilla National from Unadilla Valley Sports Center. A massive crowd was on hand as the world’s best riders attacked one of the most legendary tracks in the country. After four motos, Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey, of Belle Plaine, Minn., took his eighth consecutive 450 Class win while GEICO Powersports Honda’s Trey Canard, of Shawnee, Okla., grabbed his fourth straight 250 Class victory.
