Cardiff by the Sea’s Devon Howard rides a Tyler Surfboards 9’6″ Double Stepdeck, with 10″ 4A Greenough single-fin. The outline of this board was inspired by those being ridden by Nat Young, Bob McTavish, Russell Hughes, Peter Drouyn, and Midget Farrelly in the 1967 surf film Hot Generation, by Paul Witzig. The Double Stepdeck is a heavy, traditional longboard shaped by Tyler Hatzikian, glassed with 10 oz. Volan, however the scooped out nose and tail deck areas allow for the board to flex and twist through sections. Watch how the board bends and flexes as Devon steers it in and around sections to maintain optimum trim speed.

Billabong shares have been placed in a trading halt until Thursday, April 4 or until the company releases an announcement about negotiations with two bidders regarding discussions to purchase the company.

Billabong issued another trading halt on March 21 and had expected the purchase negotiations to be wrapped up by the end of March.

USA Cycling has announced the dates and venues for its 2013 American Mountain Bike Challenge (AMBC). Marking its 17th season, the AMBC will consist of 25 events and begin in March before concluding in early November. The series will visit 17 states throughout the country.

The AMBC was created in 1996 to provide opportunities for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities. Each stop on the series offers cross-country races, while some events may host short-track cross country, downhill, observed trials, or super D competitions as well    …  More
