The opening day of the GP Joule PWA Sylt World Cup saw the crowds begin to build as thousands of people took the opportunity to kick-start their weekend early, either by rubbing shoulders with their idols or simply enjoying a glass of champagne whilst absorbing the bustling atmosphere in glorious sunshine. The sailors spent today registering for the next nine days of competition between 11:30am and 1:30pm, before being presented to the enormous crowds at 4pm as the traditional opening ceremony took place.

George Dufty has been crowned 2013 BKSA Freestyle Kitesurfing champion, in Troon, Scotland.
After the cancellation of the Swansea event, all eyes were focused on the Scottish Windfest, in Troon. Round 2 of the 2013 BKSA Freestyle Tour would crown new champions.
