In today’s modern era, snowboarding continues to grow even more specialized than ever, and most riders are forced to focus on one style of riding with hopes of breaking through and making it big. Japan’s Kazuhiro Kokubo is the rare exception. The versatile phenomenon competed in pipe for Japan at the 2010 Olympics and spends his winters winning global halfpipe titles like the New Zealand and U.S. Open. When the competition season ends, Kazu peels off the bib and hops on his sled to begin filming in the backcountry. BRECKENRIDGE — The world’s top skiing and snowboarding athletes from 19 countries competed at Breckenridge’s Dew Tour over the weekend.
The Dew Tour offered 24 podium spots in eight Olympic disciplines, six of those events debuting on the Olympic stage in Sochi, Russia, in February.
