23 hours and 40 minutes of hard racing emotion-tinged events came down to an eight-minute hammer-and-tongs battle for victory at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Thanks to what turned out to be an unnecessary full-course caution, 52 of the 67 cars that started the event were bunched together for the sprint to the checkered flag, and when it waved, Action Express Racing’s Joao Barbosa drove to victory at Daytona International Speedway, backing up the team’s win on its debut in 2010.

The Gary Nelson-led team featured throughout the event, with Barbosa, Sebastien Bourdais, Christian Fittipaldi and Burt Frisselle pushing the No. 5 Corvette DP to a 1.461-second win over the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP.
