The O’Neill Wave of the Winter is the pinnacle of the North Shore season. It’s the most spectacular ride from the most challenging stretch of coast on Earth over a four-month period as chosen by our elite judging panel of Gerry Lopez, Shane Dorian, Pancho Sullivan and Shawn Briley.
And yeah: this year was very, very close. Hundreds of entries. Some of the craziest Outer Reef waves we’ve ever seen, mixed in with equally intense Backdoor, Off-the-Wall and Pipe barrels. And while there is only ever one winner — who will take home $25,000 — we documented the best of these spectacular rides over the whole darn winter and packaged it into a short film that celebrates the heroes of the North Shore
Shredding new MTB trails and going big at this epic bike park! We ride the new trails and modifications of the Bull Track bike park and send big tricks and gap jumps on our electric mountain bikes, which was your favourite?
I meet Daryl Brown at Bull Track bike park and shred some of the newest trails along with Lewi Pilgrim on our Haibike electric bikes. This bike park is epic and filled with loads of different lines from slower beginner sections right up to pro gap jumps and full speed jumps. It is perfect here on electric bikes as the trails are quite short but with the e-bikes you can just blast endless laps which is the best. Daryl Brown has helped to build a few of the trails here at the bike park so it was awesome to follow him through these sick runs. – Sam Pilgrim
