FORMULA One star Mark Webber lay in agony on the road, glanced at the shattered shinbone protruding through his bloody flesh and casually asked paramedics: “When can I drive again?”

The Red Bull racer suffered a career-threatening compound fracture of his right leg in a 50mph head-on collision with a 4×4 car during his own charity bicycle race in Tasmania.

IMBA, the International Mountain Bicycling Association, is urging all mountain bikers to support a proposed rule change under which it will be easier for the U.S. National Park Service to expand trails for mountain biking in various parks.

Most of it has involved the new format of the Shootout. And when you have multiple stars, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., come out and say they hate it, people are gonna listen (especially to Junior) and writers are gonna write.

Meanwhile, the IndyCar world is slowly starting to come out of a deafening quiet. The whole “Milka Duno to Newman/Haas/Lanigan” rumor that Robin Miller threw up earlier this week got fans riled up. If they were in off-season hiberation, they’ve been roused awake thanks to that particular doozy…  More info
