The Aussies (and New Zealander’s) have replaced the Euro’s as the next region to take down the American FMX Empire

There has been a quiet invasion happening in the world of FMX. An invasion so insidious that few may have noticed it, but I fear that now it may be too late to avert.

A couple of years ago, my concern was that those pesky Euros were going to come storming into the Americas and that, once they figured out the big dirt courses here, they would be an unstoppable force. We had some notable visits from riders like France’s Manu Troux and Germany’s Busty Wolter. Run off the road in a bad economy, scores of Harley-Davidson motorcycles are being sold through auctions and occasional tent sales.

Many of the bikes are from Harley-Davidson Financial Services, the motorcycle company’s consumer lending arm. It uses multiple auction services to resell motorcycles after the owners fall behind on payments and are forced to turn over the keys.

Several million dollars worth of repossessed Harleys are coming from Navigator Remarketing Group. It organized a tent sale last month in Indianapolis to sell about 120 motorcycles at near-wholesale prices. …  Details

I am a student at Tamiscal High School, as well as a mountain biker. I would like my voice to be heard by the community while doing my part in the fight for more single-track bike trails.

Let’s say you are riding your bike down the Railroad Grade fire road. Eventually you see the Hoo Koo E Koo single-track trail on your right. It’s a perfectly sculpted trail twisting through beautiful redwood trees.

But it’s for hikers only.

On your right there is a steel post cemented into the ground with a sign riveted to it making it clear that bikes can’t be ridden on this trail. There will be a large fine if you get caught riding the trail…  Details 

Beginning this May 2009, fans can follow IndyCar driver and team owner Sarah Fisher, of Sarah Fisher Racing (SFR), on Twitter as she attempts to qualify for her eighth Indianapolis 500.
