The park, which is open to all, is over three kilometres long and boasts four different zones, with a total of 25 modules of varying levels, for your biking pleasure. An injury on a mountain bike sets in motion a local entrepreneur’s business concept

When Adam Stephens flew over a 12-foot ledge on his mountain bike two years ago, he had no idea the resulting injury would spin off a business.

Stephens, an avid cyclist, broke the front end of his mountain bike and compressed two disks in his lower back, which made traditional cycling too painful for him. Stephens used his injury as a catalyst to create a prototype for an off-road, recumbent tricycle that could tackle the terrain he loved while taking the pressure off his spine. “The original trikes just didn’t fit me,” he said…  Details 

The doctor who administers NASCAR’s drug testing program said on Monday that he personally told Sprint Cup driver Jeremy Mayfield what drug resulted in his indefinite suspension at least once.

Dr. David Black, the chairman of Aegis Sciences Corp., in Nashville, Tenn., denied Mayfield’s claim that he hadn’t been told the specific results. Black said he was not sure if Mayfield has received a copy of the test results because a copy would be issued by NASCAR, not Aegis.

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said he was not aware of any request by Mayfield to obtain the results.

Regular readers of this blog know that it’s rare that Lance Armstrong and I see eye to eye on much, but whether he was the primary instigator of the rider protest that shut down Sunday’s Giro d’Italia stage or merely one of many voices, he (and the others) were right. I just wish they’d get their act together.

I tuned in to the Universal Sports’ live feed online that morning and, for a moment, was confused about whether they were actually showing the Giro d’Italia. The first few minutes of race footage showed a pack of riders cruising along at a stately 24 mph or so – even I might’ve been able to hang at the back of that pack. Well, maybe on a really good day.
