At the very beginning of this year NASCAR initiated a new substance abuse policy. Part of that policy featured random drug testing during a race weekend. The bottom line here was clearly evident: NASCAR has a zero tolerance policy towards drivers being behind the wheel of their race cars while under the influence of drugs.

The new policy was heralded by the drivers, team owners, the racing media and the fans. Many said it was about time a stronger policy was introduced. Chrysler doesn’t exactly have a reputation for having the most fuel efficient lineup in the industry, but the Michigan automaker hopes to change that with a proposed $448 million plan to spur the development of plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles.

Billabong Destin and Ride On Surf School announce that nearly 50 young surfers competed in the 1st annual Billabong Grom Comp on Saturday, May 16th at the Pompano Joe’s Beach Park in Miramar Beach with over 150 spectators cheering them on. The inaugural Billabong Grom Comp was a surfing competition for young surfers ages 12 and under and featured four divisions–Super Groms ages 8 and under, Mini Groms ages 10 and under, Groms ages 12 and under, and Senior Groms ages 14 and under. No surfing experience was required for competitors and surfboards were provided for participants that needed them.
