Austrian Hannes Bohinc and his Wettpunkt.com team were denied victory in the Cowes-Torquay-Cowes when a ruptured fuel tank forced them to retire 1.5 miles short of the finish after almost four hours of gruelling race action.

It sounds too bizaare to be true but Alfa Romeos are about to become Dodges, igniting a controversy that’s outraged car fans worldwide. The car above is Alfa Romeo’s MiTo. It was named for the two cities associated with Alfa Romeo: Milan and Torino. Now that it will be a Dodge (from Detroit), will it be renamed the Dodge DeMiTo?

Fiat chairman Marchionne told Autocar  “Dodge is the American muscle car, while Alfa Romeo is the European muscle car. How we dovetail these two brands is very important. Formula 1 commercial right holder Bernie Ecclestone has said that he fears the Renault board may decide to quit Formula 1 following allegations that Nelson Piquet was asked to crash his car so that his team mate Fernando Alonso could win last year’s Singapore Grand Prix.
