Olympic gold medalist Maris Strombergs (LAT) displayed his dominance in his first supercross race since the Olympic Games winning round three of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup, presented by Swatch in Chula Vista, California on Saturday. Australian Sam Willoughby earned the silver while American Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev.) grabbed the bronze. Olympic silver medalist Laetitia Le Corguille (FRA) brought home the women’s victory ahead of Columbia’s Mariana Pajon and American Arielle Martin (Pleasant Grove, Utah/GT).

Strombergs put on a dominant performance on the Beijing Olympic replica track winning each of his heats as well as his quarter and semi final rounds. Willoughby, winner of round #2 of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup in South Africa, used consistency advancing through each round with ease.

Top seeding in the Chase for the Sprint Cup must agree with Mark Martin and, on Sunday, he took the first step toward the championship that has eluded him for more than 20 years.

In a confidential letter to the International Sailing Federation, BMW Oracle Racing skipper and CEO, Sir Russell Coutts requested a meeting with the ISAF Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee met last weekend in Copenhagen, Denmark and Sail-World understands that a meeting took place, with both BMW Oracle Racing and Alinghi, meeting separately with the ISAF.

There does not appear to have been any direct outcome from that meeting.

However late last week the International Sailing Federation and Societe Nautique de Geneve released the previously confidential agreement, just two days prior to a Telephone Hearing convened by Justice Shirley Kornreich of the New York Supreme Court. The agreement was signed between the ISAF and Defender on 5 June 2009, and remained confidential for over three months…  Details
