Snowboard Video – Arctic Challenge slopestyle qualifier @ Vierli – Sondre Tiller – rookie at The Oakley Arctic Challenge 2003 – won the Swatch TTR 2Star SWAG MAX IT slopestyle in Vierli this weekend, and thereby qualified for TTR 6Star The Oakley Arctic Challenge, together with Ulrik Badertscher and Joachim Krogstie.
A whole fleet of outlandishly decorated clunker cars raced across the track, kicking up dirt, blowing around corners and generally causing a ruckus Saturday at the Thunderhill Raceway Park.
The drivers were part of the “24 Hours of LeMons” competition, a national racing event. But this was no conventional race, said founder Jay Lamm.
To begin with, all participants had to enter cars costing $500 or less, not including safety fees, Lamm said. And due to the sheer volume of applicants, only those with the most silly and entertaining cars were allowed into the competition. About 248 people wanted in, but only 160 were accepted. Among the vehicles on the track were a modified tow truck, a tiny Honda with a motorcycle engine, and green passenger car with horns mounted on the top…Â Details
