Rockstar/Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey has dealt with way more criticism than anyone with a record like his should have had to deal with. Since he won the Supercross title in 2010, it seems some people can’t talk about anything else except how Dungey “wouldn’t have won if (insert rider name here) were racing”. It carried through the nationals, and even on National TV, some MX legends said that Dungey had to beat them all this year to “legitimize” his championship. Well, on Saturday night inside Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Dungey finished a strong second to Ryan Villopoto, beating two out of the three guys he needed to beat to “legitimize” his championship.
