Dekra Test Oval, Klettwitz, Germany, 2nd August 2011. Francesco Russo set a new one-hour world record with human powered vehicle, named Eiviestretto. He covered 91.556 kilometers. The vehicle is basically a product of longlasting development of Slovenian team “Eivie” with Damjan Zabovnik as the leader. The rider lies inside on his back, head first. For navigation he uses a mirror. Swiss Francesco also helped to Damjan with the latest design and by building the vehicle. So, two designers-builders and pilots (riders) joined together and after only one year of cooperation, but after many years of their attempts seperately, the world record is the least what they deserve.
Dorian Van Rijsselberge and Zofia Klepacka picked up the first gold medals of the Weymouth and Portland International after a gripping day of sailing on the Nothe in winds in between 15-20 knots.
