Jeff Zwart, Moderator: Driving a GT3 Porsche Cup Car, with a GT2RS turbo motor prepared for Pikes Peak. The Stoked News crew had the pleasure of meeting Jeff at Cars and Coffee in Novato, CA about a year ago. We have followed his exploits for years. He is a true gentleman, A great driver and one of nicest, most unassuming people you’ll ever meet.
Romain Dumas: Porsche Factory Driver, coming off a valiant effort at LeMans last weekend in the new Porsche 919; Romain has entered the Hillclimb in a Norma Prototype as is expected to contend for the record. Romain was Rookie of the Year two years ago winning the Open Class.
Vincent Beltoise: Vincent is Romain’s protege. Vincent will be driving a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This is his Rookie year and we are anticipating a great show from him.
Fred Veitch: Fred is one of our esteemed locals. This is Fred’s 3rd year and we are expecting a very competitive outcome while driving a specially prepared 996 Turbo.
Chris Lennon: Past class winner at Pikes Peak, driving a 1969 RSR “clone” in the open class.
He had been dreaming of it for as long as he can remember and on his third try, he made it : Romain Dumas has won the legendary Pikes Peak hill climb in the Norma M20 « RD Limited » ! Driving in the Unlimited class, the Alès, France native bested the two official electric Mitsubishi entries. He is the third French driver to win the event, after Michèle Mouton and Sébastien Loeb.
