Ian “Skip” Wilson, a retired Lake County mechanic, has been reunited with his beloved 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 30-years after it was stolen from his home in Clearlake Oaks, California.

The story of Wilson and his ’57 Bel Air dates back to 1975, when he bough the dilapidated classic for just $375. Wilson spent countless hours getting the Bel Air back into shape, only to have it stolen in 1983. The cops eventually found the Bel Air, but with the engine and transmission removed. Even without those key parts the Bel Air proved too much for crooks to resist, and the car was stolen again in 1984. This time the Bel Air was gone for good, or so Wilson though.
