The 2014 USA BMX Season started for amateurs and pros alike, with the calendar barely two weeks old. This was a much better arrangement than the 2013 calendar, which gave the pros four months out of the view of their adoring fans.
One of the things we like about the USA BMX structure (versus the old ABA/NBL structure) is that it is “safe” now to try new things, and if they don’t quite work out, they can be changed easily–without the other side playing “gotcha” games.
Reno 2014 was a big race by any standard, at 342 motos on Saturday and 304 on Sunday.
