Hiking up the Red Bull Rampage site is a feat in itself, the cliffs are steeps and the steeps are cliffs. The footings are loose and it’s easy to become solely focused on a sense of self preservation, but when you stop to catch your breath and look around, things come into perspective quickly. You start to see the tiny figures in the distance, dwarfed by the sheer size of the cliffs and camouflaged by the layers of dust they have become covered with as they try to mould the landscape. The silhouettes of pickaxe swinging workers that line the ridges against the hot sun are reminiscent of chain gangs, but with one major difference, these people have volunteered for these hours of manual labour.
