The world’s best windsurfers competed in mission number two of windsurfing’s toughest contest as nine-meter waves and storm-force winds battered the Tasmanian coastline near Marrawah.
The contest format of Red Bull Storm Chase is unique: 10 of the world’s best windsurfers competed in the first mission in Ireland – Brandon Bay. Only six out of the ten athletes solved the ticket to the second mission in Australia, Tasmania that took place last weekend. The top four of the second round will step forward to the third mission. The winner of this final mission will be crowned to the “king of the storm chase”.
Mission 2 Australia, Tasmania
Two days of waves in the nine-metre range the windsurfes threw themselves straight into the waters and twisted spins, flips and other dangerous manouevres on what was categorized the most incredible day of windsurfing ever seen.
