Saturday’s hot weather added to the challenge faced by a record number of mountain bike riders competing in the annual Lemurian Shasta Classic at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area.
“Someone said it was 91 degrees,” said Mark Haslam, president of the Redding Mountain Biking Club, which hosted the event. “We had quite of bit of hydration issues,” he said.
