More than 100 young skateboarders – many of them with cuts and bruises on their legs and torsos from earlier falls – converged on a hill in San Pedro on Saturday for a day of fun.
They were taking part in a dangerous activity that, on normal days, is essentially banned from neighborhood streets. It’s called “bombing,” or careening down sloped streets at speeds greater than 25 mph.
