It took a modest army of BMX bikers months of dirt-shoveling to build the track of their dreams. But because they built on public property, their track will soon be bulldozed.
Murrieta Assistant City Manager Jim Holston said Thursday that parks maintenance employees will, in the coming weeks, begin their annual clearing of over-grown weeds on city-owned land at Kalmia and New Clay streets. When the brush is cleared, Holston said, the land, slated to be developed into a public park in a few years, will be levelled.
