Last month, the ninth celebration of IMBA’s Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day (TKMBD) event helped bring thousands of young riders into the outdoor world to ride their bikes. Recognized across the globe, the 2012 edition saw 121 IMBA events, and 45 others arranged by dealers in the Specialized Bicycles dealer network. Locations ranged from Mexico to Italy and across North America, including a ride at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejune in North Carolina. Based on organizers’ estimates, at least 10,000 participants were inspired to ride at IMBA-affiliated events.
