A handful of pop-up tents, scattered beach chairs and a few dozen spectators were all that remained of last year’s East Coast Surfing Championships.
The scene took George Desgain back – 50 years back.
“That’s how it all started,” he said. “There wasn’t much to it. But it was such an incredible time.”
