Once in a while, and seemingly at best every generation, a sport unearths a man or woman who almost single handedly carries the charm and character of the craft in which they turn their hand to. In the case of the Isle of Man TT we are lucky enough to be in the midst of John McGuinness’ reign as King of the Mountain.
In a paddock that’s not short of characters, John’s ability to balance multiple wins at the TT with his trademark smile and infectuous personality sees him as the most celebrated competitor. In the 2012 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy he picked up the baton with 17 wins to his name and countless stars of 2 wheel racing looking on in awe.
