Somewhere between Fayetteville and the coast, a flotilla of small boats is making its way down the Cape Fear River.
The kayaks and canoes paddled by Fort Bragg soldiers began their journey from just outside Fayetteville on Friday. The soldiers are covering 130 miles of the Cape Fear River.
Their goal, geographically speaking, is Fort Fisher, near the mouth of the river.
