Twenty-four hours after winning the world title in the individual pursuit, Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) added a second medal to the United States’ tally Friday, taking home a silver in the kilometer time trial at the 2009 UCI Track Cycling World Championships.
Phinney clocked a time of 1 minute, 1.611 seconds to lower his own national record of 1:01.641 and place second behind Germany’s Stefan Nimke (1:00.666).
