The moment that Tina Waitzman faced her addiction was when she came into the bicycle shop on crutches.
She had been hit by a car while riding and suffered a broken back and broken leg. While she did allow herself three months of convalescence, most of that time was spent fantasizing about a replacement bike for the one that had been totaled.
