On the heels of yesterday’s surf-to-survive conditions, Sunset Beach served up tamer waves in the double-overhead range, but competition in the Vans World Cup of Surfing was no less intense. A $250,000 ASP Prime event, surfers from 16 nations are vying for critical end-of-year points here, but wild surf and wildcard surfers can make the going tough.
