Rally Car – Volkswagen’s 2013 WRC machine has first test

Volkswagen’s new World Rally Car was given its maiden test run in Germany on Thursday morning.

The Polo R WRC, which will form the basis of the manufacturer’s world championship programme from 2013 onwards, was driven by rally legend Carlos Sainz on asphalt stages close to Trier.
