It has long been said that NASCAR’s new Car of Tomorrow is a tire shredding machine and that the current tires manufactured by Goodyear can’t handle the increased weight and down force of the new machine.
The debacle at Indianapolis last year, where NASCAR had to throw a caution flag every ten laps because the tires were exploding, brought the tire issue to the forefront. This coming after most drivers were highly critical of the tires Goodyear brought to the Atlanta race last year.
