Our long-term Triumph Tiger 800XC appeared to be shockingly thirsty, until I calculated how much fuel it was actually using. The computer was claiming only 43mpg in steady general riding, but fuel pumps and the odometer confirmed it’s desperately pessimistic – the real figure was in fact 49mpg.
