Skateboarding is a superlative sport for children to become involved with. It gets them outside, keeps them active and teaches discipline as well as aids in the development of self-esteem. Despite all those benefits, some parents would rather their children forgo skateboarding and play organized sports instead. Their reasons why vary. When my children were little they engaged in both.
