The surf gods were in rare form on Friday morning, when the First Annual Newport Storm/Narragansett Beer Team Long board Challenge went down at the Narragansett Town Beach. After nearly 10 days of flat conditions, a wind swell picked up and offered competitors, solid 2-3 foot surf to work with. Despite soaring temperatures that reached 101 degrees, the turnout was excellent for the contest. All ESA rated events were also run during the day, as well as the team challenge.
