Honolulu — The sixth biennial Hawaiian Islands Vintage Surf Auction, presented by Quiksilver Waterman Collection, took place in Honolulu on Saturday with $650,000 in vintage surfboards and memorabilia changing hands before a capacity crowd at the Blaisdell Center. A new auction item record was set: $41,000 for a 1920, 9’0 John Kelly redwood plank. It sold to a buyer from Connecticut, USA.
