Joel Parkinson’s relationship with Jeffreys Bay began early in 1999. He was only 18 when he arrived in Jeffreys Bay for the first time, and nobody expected what happened. Parko stunned the surfing world by winning the Billabong Pro J-Bay as a wildcard and with it, his maiden WCT victory. He won his second Billabong Pro J-Bay exactly 10 years later in 2009 and so joined a very exclusive club of 2-time Champions.
This, the third of six webisodes features Parko talking about his love-affair with the Billabong Pro J-Bay and his excitement on returning to one of his favourite stops on tour after missing out last year due to a serious foot injury.
After his recent win at Bells Beach earlier on this year — Parko will certainly be on the favourites come 14 July.
